Both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid had it all to play in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals as they played out a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday.
Bayern started the game on the front foot, with Leroy Sane‘s shot blocked by Real Madrid’s goalee, Andriy Lunin in the early exchanges.
But Real’s Vinicius Junior opened the scoring for the Los Blancos after he latched to a defence-splitting pass from teammate Toni Kroos, giving Madrid a priceless lead they took into the second half.
Sane continued his menaces of Real down on the right after the break, cutting inside and unleashing a wicked shot into the right side of Lunin’s goalpost for Bayern’s equalizer.
Harry Kane soon doubled the tally at the 57th minute for the hosts after a penalty was awarded for a foul by Lucas Vasquez on Jamaal Musiala, sending Andriy Lunin the wrong way. Kane is now the highest goalscorer in Europe this season with 43 goals.
Real had the last shout in the game, with Vini Jr. getting a brace after he converted a spot kick from a foul on Rodrygo.
The game ended level. The two sides will meet again in the second leg next week at the Santiago Bernabeu.

“He was too greedy twice. He made the first move too early against Vinicius in the first goal and got caught by Toni Kross’ pass. He speculated and was too aggressive. In the second goal, unfortunately it was another mistake. We were 5 against 2, we had the numbers. There was no need to defend that aggressively against Rodrigo. The moment Eric was about to help, he [Kim] brought him [Rodrigo] down. Unfortunately with their quality, these mistakes get punished. But well, it happens. We have to move on”.
