CAC Simplifies Business Filings with New Digital Payment System

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has launched a direct payment feature on its Intelligent Company Registration Portal (iCRP).

This development allows customers to settle fees for selected services through ReVOps, moving away from the sole reliance on previous third-party gateways.

The Commission announced the update on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, through its official social media handles.

This initiative aims to streamline the business registration journey and enhance the user experience for millions of Nigerian entrepreneurs and corporate entities.

Before this update, users primarily processed payments through the Remita gateway.

While that system supported debit cards and bank transfers, the new direct option through ReVOps is intended to provide a more integrated and efficient transaction flow.

“The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) wishes to notify its esteemed customers that payments for the following filings can now be conveniently made directly on our portal via ReVOps on the Intelligent Company Registration Portal (iCRP),” the statement read.

Eligible Services and the REV-OP Strategy

The new payment system covers a variety of essential corporate filings. According to the CAC, users can now make direct payments for Annual Returns Filing, Change of Name, and the Cessation of Business.

Furthermore, other services included are Certified True Copies (CTC), Letters of Good Standing, and updates to Proprietor or Partner details.

This expansion is a key component of the Federal Government’s broader drive to digitise public finance.

Meanwhile, the transition is part of the Revenue Optimization and Assurance Project (REV-OP), which was launched in June 2025.

This policy focuses on strengthening financial management and blocking revenue leakages across government agencies through real-time digital monitoring.

The REV-OP initiative is built on three pillars: transparency, efficiency, and digital transformation.

By integrating these pillars into the iCRP, the CAC intends to provide a more transparent and data-driven approach to corporate revenue collection.

Cybersecurity Resilience and System Security

This digital update follows a challenging period for the Commission’s infrastructure. In late April 2026, the CAC conducted an emergency maintenance shutdown of its online platforms.

The portal was temporarily closed between April 17 and April 20, 2026, after a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorised access.

This breach reportedly affected limited aspects of the database, leading the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) to intervene and strengthen the system’s safeguards.

As a result of the maintenance, the CAC introduced mandatory Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) for all portal users.

This security layer, combined with the new direct payment system, is expected to improve both the safety and speed of corporate filings.

The Commission believes that these technology-driven solutions will foster a more resilient digital environment.

By removing friction in the payment process, the CAC looks to support the growth of the Nigerian business community while ensuring data integrity.
