The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced an online system that allows 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from home.
The new service begins with West African Examinations Council (WAEC) results and is designed to reduce pressure on Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres, especially when queues are long.
JAMB said the platform will electronically verify candidates’ results directly with the relevant examination bodies before uploading them to their profiles.
The board explained that the process is meant to make result upload easier, faster, safer and more convenient.
In a statement by its Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, JAMB said the system would also reduce problems linked to manual uploads.
Those problems include misplaced certificates, mixed-up paper records, fake results and mistakes in subject or grade entry.
JAMB said the new arrangement is tied to its e-Facility platform, which will now check each result against records held by the issuing examination body before it is added to a candidate’s profile.
Steps For Candidates
To use the service, candidates first visit the designated result verification portal and obtain a verification code.
They must provide their National Identification Number (NIN), select the number of O’Level sittings and choose the relevant examination body or bodies.
They also need to provide an email address and GSM number before making payment through the available gateway.
After payment, candidates enter details such as examination number, series and year.
If the result is successfully verified, JAMB issues a Verification Code.
Candidates then send “VERIFY” followed by the code to 55019 or 66019.
JAMB said the verified result will then be uploaded and the candidate will receive a confirmation message.
For Candidates With Two Sittings
Candidates with two O’Level sittings must log into their JAMB e-Facility dashboard and choose “2026 UTME O’Level Upload”.
After entering the Verification Code, both verified results will appear.
They can then choose the required subjects before clicking “Apply the O’Level Results”.
JAMB said candidates must select at least five subjects and not more than nine, and no subject should appear twice.
A notification will be sent once the process is completed.
The board said the service is part of its customer-focused agenda under its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina.
It said technology is being used to cut unnecessary travel, queues and paperwork.
JAMB added that the new system will be especially useful when CBT centres are crowded or when network problems slow down service.
The board said it will continue to work with examination bodies and government agencies to simplify admission processes and improve the candidate experience.
