Michael Carrick Named Manchester United Caretaker Manager

Michael Carrick, former Manchester United midfielder and long-time coach, has been appointed caretaker manager until the end of the season. The club is expected to make an official announcement shortly.

Renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the agreement via social media, noting that all details, including Carrick’s backroom staff, have been finalised.

“Michael Carrick signs in as new Manchester United caretaker manager until the end of the season. Verbal agreement since yesterday, now sorted in all details + backroom staff also. #MUFC official announcement to follow next,” Romano tweeted.

Carrick, 44, spent over a decade at United as a player, winning multiple Premier League titles and the Champions League.

He later joined the coaching staff, serving under managers including José Mourinho and Ole Gunnar Solskjær.

His appointment comes at a crucial moment as United look to stabilise their season and push for a strong finish in domestic and European competitions.
