Nigerian singer Oluwatosin Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has announced the passing of his mother, Ifeoma Edith Ajibade.
The singer shared the news on Instagram on Thursday, posting a tribute alongside a photo of them together.
“Thank you, Mummy, for your strength, your sacrifices, your unwavering faith. For raising us with love, discipline, and devotion to God. For teaching me confidence, entrepreneurship, forgiveness, and family.
“You were my greatest protector, my toughest critic, and truest fan. You were not perfect, but you were perfect to me. Your legacy lives on. Rest well, Ifeoma Edith Ajibade”, he wrote.
Mr Eazi, born Oluwatosin Ajibade on July 19, 1991, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and entrepreneur. He is a pioneer of Banku Music, a fusion of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian Afrobeats.
He gained prominence with hits like Skin Tight and Leg Over and has collaborated with artists such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, and J Balvin. In addition to music, he is the founder of emPawa Africa, an initiative supporting emerging African artists.
Mr Eazi has a business background, having studied Mechanical Engineering at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana.
