APC Release 2027 Election Timetable, Set ₦100m Presidential Form

Nigeria’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), has unveiled its full timetable for the 2027 general elections.

The schedule outlines dates for form sales, screening, primaries, and appeals across all elective positions.

It was released on Monday and signed by National Organising Secretary Sulaiman Argungu.

The announcement was also confirmed by party spokesman Felix Morka.

The party claims its timetable is in line with Nigeria’s 1999 Constitution, the Electoral Act 2026, and INEC guidelines.

These frameworks guide how parties select candidates before national elections.

Key Dates For Forms, Screening And Primaries

The APC said sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms began on April 25 and ends May 2, 2026.

Submission of completed forms will close on May 4, 2026.

Screening of aspirants is scheduled from May 6 to May 9 across all positions.

This includes State Assemblies, House of Representatives, Senate, governorship, and presidential hopefuls.

Meanwhile, appeals from screening results will hold from May 12 to May 13 for some categories.

Primary elections will then begin on May 15, starting with House of Representatives contests.

The process will continue through Senate, state assemblies, and governorship races.

Presidential primaries will follow before the exercise ends on May 23, 2026.

Form Fees And Special Concessions Announced

The party also released fees for all aspirants seeking tickets.

State Assembly aspirants will pay ₦1m for Expression of Interest and ₦5m for Nomination forms.

House of Representatives aspirants will pay ₦1m and ₦9m respectively.

Senate aspirants are expected to pay ₦3m and ₦17m.

Governorship aspirants will pay ₦10m and ₦40m.

Presidential hopefuls face the highest cost, paying ₦30m and ₦70m, totalling ₦100m.

However, the APC offered concessions for certain groups.

Female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities will pay only the Expression fee and half the Nomination fee.

This policy is meant to encourage wider participation within the party structure.

Payments are to be made into designated accounts in Union Bank, UBA, and Zenith Bank.
