PSG Stuns Barcelona with Late 2-1 Victory in Champions League Clash

Paris Saint-Germain snatched a dramatic 2-1 victory over Barcelona at Parc des Princes, sealed by a stoppage-time strike from Gonçalo Ramos.

Barcelona struck first in the 19th minute. Ferran Torres finished off a flowing move, sliding home after Lamine Yamal’s trivela pass to Pedri and Marcus Rashford’s sharp cutback.

PSG answered in the 38th minute. Nuno Mendes bulldozed forward before squaring for 19-year-old Senny Mayulu, who calmly drilled a precise effort from 19 yards. The teenager’s composure electrified the Paris crowd.

Barcelona dominated possession in the second half, pressing high and forcing PSG back. Robert Lewandowski saw a header saved, while Raphinha’s curling shot clipped the crossbar. PSG held firm under pressure.

In stoppage time, the breakthrough came. Achraf Hakimi surged into space and slid a pass through for substitute Ramos, who lashed beyond Wojciech Szczęsny to seal a famous win.

Luis Enrique was delighted. “We never give up—that’s what makes us champions,” the PSG boss said. The Spaniard praised Ramos for his decisive finish off the bench.

Barcelona coach Hansi Flick admitted frustration. “We started well but couldn’t hold on; it hurts,” he said, insisting his team must learn to close games at this level.

PSG now sit on six points after two games in the new Champions League league phase, strengthening their push for a top-eight spot. Barcelona remain on three points, leaving questions about their defensive concentration in tight contests.

Can Barcelona recover from this late heartbreak in their next European challenge, or does this expose the cracks in Flick’s project?
