Chelsea Unveils “Rare Breed” Third Kit For 2026/27 Season

Chelsea have released their new third kit for the 2026/27 season, completing a trio of lion-themed Nike strips for the Premier League club.

The Blues announced the launch on their official website on Saturday. Chelsea said the kit was designed for supporters “who dare to stand apart,” continuing a theme that began with the home shirt’s “Can’t Tame Us” message and the darker away kit released earlier in the season.

The club has named the new third strip “The Rare Breed.”

Chelsea said the design draws on mythology surrounding the white lion, which the club describes as “the sacred and rare keeper of the land — not separate from the pride, but one that moves on its own terms when it matters.”

White dominates the shirt, which features a geometric shadow pattern, blue trim on the neck and sleeves, and vertical red pinstripes.

The design recalls Chelsea’s away and third kits from the 1980s and 1990s, and carries a retro version of the club crest on the chest.

For the men’s kit, the shorts are white, while the women’s version pairs the shirt with blue shorts. Both versions are finished with white socks featuring blue hoops.

Chelsea said the home and away kits are now sold with branding from USDC by Circle, the club’s front-of-shirt partner introduced earlier in the season.

The new third kit carries the same branding, tying all three strips to the current sponsorship deal.

Nike has produced Chelsea’s kits since 2017, and lion imagery has featured across the club’s branding for the 2026/27 campaign as part of the wider strip collection.

The third kit is now on sale through Chelsea's official store and website, alongside the club’s home and away releases.
