Victor Osimhen Joins Galatasaray in €75 Million Deal

Galatasaray SK have confirmed the permanent signing of Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen from Napoli in a deal worth €75 million.

The agreement includes €40 million upfront, with an additional €35 million to be paid within a year, along with performance bonuses and a 10% resale clause.

The deal also includes a unique “anti-Italy clause” that prevents Osimhen from being sold to any Serie A club within the next two years. If Galatasaray breaches this clause, they must pay Napoli double the transfer fee.

Osimhen, 26, had a standout loan spell with the Turkish giants, scoring 26 league goals and helping them to a league and cup double. Across all competitions, he netted 37 goals and provided 8 assists in 41 appearances.

His performances earned him the Turkish Süper Lig Golden Boot and a spot in the Europa League Team of the Season.

The Nigerian striker turned down lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia and interest from Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Manchester United, to remain in Europe.

He reportedly signed a four-year contract and will earn an annual salary of €18 million, making him one of the highest-paid players in Turkish football history.

Osimhen is expected to be unveiled in Istanbul this week, with Galatasaray fans preparing a historic welcome.

The club sees him as a key figure in their Champions League campaign and long-term project.

Did Galatasaray make the right move investing heavily in Osimhen—or is the anti-Italy clause a step too far?
