Nollywood actress and filmmaker Toyin Abraham has opened up about losing a pregnancy while she was still working on a movie.
Abraham revealed that she was about four months pregnant when she lost the pregnancy, saying she continued filming despite the difficult experience.
The actress shared the experience at the Bestie Jesu Concert 2026 in Lagos on Saturday, September 19, while speaking about some of the painful moments she has faced.
Abraham said the pregnancy loss was a difficult period for her, particularly because she initially struggled with telling her parents. She explained that she was worried about how her mother would react to the news.
She later informed her husband, actor Kolawole Ajeyemi, who was away at the time.
The actress also recalled how Pastor Bolaji Idowu supported her during the period. According to Abraham, the pastor prayed with her and later provided financial assistance towards her medical treatment.
“I was four months pregnant, but I lost it. But guess what, I was filming, so I was down,” she said.
Abraham said she contacted Pastor Bolaji after informing her husband. She explained that she was on her way to the hospital for an evacuation procedure when the pastor asked about her condition.
She said the pastor continued to pray for her and later sent her money to assist with the medical expenses.
Pastor Bolaji Idowu is a Nigerian Christian minister known for his church and faith-based activities.
Abraham Recalls Support During Difficult Period
The actress expressed gratitude to Pastor Bolaji for standing by her during the difficult experience.
“Thank you so much, Pastor Bolaji. God bless you,” Abraham said while recalling the support she received.
The pregnancy loss was not the first time Abraham had spoken publicly about such an experience. She had previously disclosed that she suffered a pregnancy loss in 2022.
Her latest disclosure has brought renewed attention to the personal challenges she has experienced away from her work in Nollywood.
Abraham is known for her work as an actress, filmmaker and producer, with several Nigerian film projects to her name.
Days before the disclosure, Abraham also clarified that she was not part of the Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) Campaign Council after her name appeared on a published list. She said she had not agreed to serve and was staying out of politics.
