Bernardo Silva will leave Manchester City at the end of the season – confirmed.

The announcement came on Sunday after City’s 4-0 FA Cup quarterfinal win over Liverpool.

Assistant coach Pep Lijnders confirmed the decision post-match.

“Every good story comes to an end.”

“I hope he enjoys the last months… he deserves all that attention.”

The 31-year-old midfielder will depart as a free agent when his contract expires after the 2025–26 campaign.

Silva joined City from AS Monaco in 2017 for about $57.35m.

Since then, he has made 450 appearances and won six Premier League titles and the Champions League.

Silva’s Legacy At City And Guardiola’s Praise

Under Pep Guardiola, Silva became one of City’s most trusted players.

Known for versatility and work rate, he played across midfield and attack during key title runs.

Guardiola previously described him in glowing terms.

“He is irreplaceable.”

Meanwhile, City remain in contention for more trophies this season.

They recently secured the League Cup and are chasing further success across competitions.

However, they trail Arsenal by nine points in the Premier League.

With a game in hand and eight matches left, the title race remains open.

Salah Exit Signals Wider Premier League Shift

Silva’s departure comes as another major exit reshapes the league.

Mohamed Salah has also confirmed he will leave Liverpool in May.

“Unfortunately, the day has come… this is the first part of my farewell.”

Salah joined Liverpool from AS Roma in 2017 and became a club legend.

He scored 255 goals in 435 matches and won multiple trophies, including the Champions League.

His four Premier League Golden Boots underline his impact during a dominant era.

As reported by BBC Sport, these exits signal a transition among England’s top clubs.

With two defining players preparing to leave, the Premier League faces a changing of the guard.

As Silva’s final weeks approach, people are wondering if Manchester City can truly replace a player Guardiola himself once called irreplaceable. What’s your take?
