The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of the mop-up Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Out of the 96,838 candidates registered for the special exercise, only 11,161 results have been made available so far.
In a statement issued on Sunday by JAMB’s spokesperson, Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the board said some candidates could not access their results because they did not follow the proper procedure.
“Candidates who are not able to access their results have been found not to have fully complied with the instruction to send ‘UTMERESULT’ (as one word text) to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number (SIM) used during registration for the UTME,” he explained.
This has led to confusion and complaints among some of the candidates, but JAMB insists the process is clear and straightforward.
The board urged all affected candidates to strictly follow the instruction so they can access their results without further delays.
What Happens Next for Candidates?
The mop-up exam was conducted for candidates who missed the main UTME earlier in the year due to technical issues, biometric problems, or other valid concerns.
JAMB had stated in advance that this special exercise was meant to ensure no qualified candidate was left behind.
Candidates who participated and have accessed their results are expected to proceed with admissions processes into tertiary institutions.
Applicants can also confirm their admission status later via the JAMB CAPS portal.
