Elon Musk has announced on Sunday, 25 October 2026 that X is adding a new feature allowing users to send one United States dollar by long-pressing the like button.
In a post on the platform, Musk wrote: “We’re adding long press on like to send someone $1 via 𝕏 Money.”,
The function will let users tip the author of a post with a single sustained press on the heart icon.
The payment will be processed through X Money, the platform’s built-in digital wallet.
X Money began rolling out in the United States on 29 July 2026 to Premium and Premium Plus subscribers.
It supports peer-to-peer transfers, pay-ins, pay-outs and a linked debit card offering three per cent cash back.
Part of Broader Platform Push
The long-press tip is designed to make small payments faster and more seamless for creators.
Users will no longer need to open a separate payments screen to send a small tip.
Musk has repeatedly described X as an “everything app” that combines social networking with financial services.
The announcement generated widespread discussion among users and creators on the platform.
No specific launch date for the long-press feature has been confirmed.
X has not yet detailed eligibility rules or whether confirmation steps will be required before money is sent.
The feature forms part of ongoing efforts to expand X Money beyond its initial United States rollout.

Hummm, that’s good for premium x account users
