Air Peace, Turkish Airlines Seal New Travel Deal

Air travel in Nigeria just got a major upgrade as Air Peace and Turkish Airlines signed a new deal.

The agreement allows passengers to travel across continents using a single ticket and smoother connections.

Meanwhile, the interline partnership links Nigeria, West Africa, and Central Africa directly to global destinations through Istanbul.

“This partnership positions Nigeria at the centre of global connectivity,” said Nowel Ngala.

“By integrating our domestic network with Turkish Airlines’ reach, we reduce travel complexity.”

Passengers arriving in Lagos can now connect easily to Air Peace’s domestic and regional flights.

Furthermore, outbound travellers can move through Istanbul to Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.

“We expand customer choice and simplify journeys,” Ngala added.

The agreement also ensures baggage is checked through to final destinations without repeated handling.

Consequently, this reduces delays and improves the overall travel experience for both business and leisure passengers.

How The Interline Deal Works

An interline agreement allows airlines to sell a combined ticket across multiple carriers.

This means travellers book once and complete their journey across partner airlines without separate check-ins.

Growing Competition And Strategic Expansion

The deal comes amid increasing competition among airlines seeking to dominate African routes.

Earlier in January 2026, Air Peace entered a similar arrangement with Emirates to boost Nigeria-UK travel.

That deal allowed passengers to connect from Nigeria to London using a single ticket system.

Meanwhile, this new partnership extends that model further into Europe and Asia through Istanbul.

Experts say such agreements reduce travel stress and open more routes for African passengers.

For Nigeria, the partnership also positions Lagos as a transit hub for regional and international travel.
