The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Zamfara State has deployed 365 operational personnel to secure worship centres for the Easter celebration.

The Command made this disclosure on Wednesday through a statement from Public Relations Officer ASCI Umar Mohammed.

The deployment took place under the leadership of State Commandant Sani Mustapha. Officers have been strategically stationed to cover the entire festive period.

They will focus on worship centres and the protection of critical infrastructure across 14 Local Government Areas.

“The personnel have been strategically stationed to cover the Easter period,” the official statement clarified.

“They will focus on strengthening security presence at worship centres and safeguarding lives,” the Command added.

Strategic Deployment Across Fourteen Local Government Areas

According to reports from Daily Post, the exercise aims to sustain peace throughout the state.

The NSCDC operates as a paramilitary agency commissioned to provide measures against threats and safeguard public infrastructure.

The Commandant gave specific orders to his team regarding their conduct on the field. He insisted on total compliance with the Corps’ rules of engagement.

“Maintain discipline, professionalism, and consistency while ensuring effective operational coverage to sustain peace,” Mustapha declared.

Furthermore, he confirmed the commitment of the Corps under Commandant General Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi.

The mandate remains the 100% protection of lives and property for all citizens. Consequently, he issued a stern warning to potential lawbreakers.

“Anyone found engaging in criminal activities will be dealt with in accordance with the law,” Mustapha alleged in the statement.

Commitment To Peace And National Unity During Festivities

Meanwhile, residents in Zamfara have expressed the need for heightened vigilance. The state has previously dealt with security challenges involving local bandits.

Consequently, the presence of 365 officers provides a sense of relief to many families. These officers will serve as the first line of defence at various cathedrals.

Furthermore, they will monitor power lines and telecommunication masts to prevent vandalism during the holidays.

The Commandant extended his goodwill to the Christian community during this period.

“I extend Easter greetings to Christians and pray for lasting peace in the country,” he said.

Furthermore, he told the public to remain law-abiding. He believes that unity is essential for overcoming current national challenges.
