Cristiano Ronaldo Invests 25% Stake in Spanish Club UD Almería

Cristiano Ronaldo has entered football club ownership after purchasing a 25% stake in Spanish second division side UD Almería.

The 41-year-old Portugal captain, who Forbes named a billionaire last year, made the investment through his company, CR7 Sports Investments.

The deal was announced Thursday morning, though the purchase figure was not disclosed.

Ronaldo said, “It has been a longtime ambition of mine to contribute to football, beyond the pitch. UD Almería is a Spanish club with strong foundations and clear potential for growth. I look forward to working alongside the leadership team to support the club’s next phase of growth.”

This investment signals Ronaldo’s return to Spanish football after nine successful seasons at Real Madrid, where he won multiple trophies before leaving for Juventus in 2018 and now plays in Saudi Arabia.

The investment offers a glimpse into Ronaldo’s post-playing career, as he begins shaping his future beyond the game while still starring for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
