The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced February 26, 2026, as the final deadline for registration for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement issued Wednesday, JAMB spokesperson Dr. Fabian Benjamin said the sale of e-PINs will close at midnight on Thursday, February 26.
Registration at accredited centers for candidates who already purchased e-PINs will end on Saturday, February 28.
Benjamin disclosed that more than 1.5 million candidates had registered for the UTME as of Tuesday. He noted that many prospective candidates are yet to complete the process.
“Candidates are therefore strongly advised to obtain their e-PINs before the vending deadline and proceed immediately to accredited centers to complete their registration. Waiting until the last few days may result in avoidable challenges, and the Board will not entertain any appeals for extension after the deadline,” the statement read.
The Board reminded candidates that registration can only be completed at accredited centers. It warned against last-minute delays, stressing that no extension will be granted beyond the announced deadline.
The UTME remains Nigeria’s standardized entry examination for admission into universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education.
