The Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) has cautioned the public to disregard a fraudulent letter currently circulating online and offline, which falsely claims to offer admission into the Academy’s 77 Regular Course.

In a statement issued by the Academy’s Public Relations Officer, Major Reuben Kovangiya, the NDA described the letter as “the handiwork of fraudsters seeking to extort unsuspecting applicants.”

Major Kovangiya stressed that the admission exercise for the 77 Regular Course had long been completed.

“The letter circulating is not only fake but obviously the antics of fraudsters, whose sole intention is to defraud unsuspecting members of the public,” he said.

He explained that the attention of the NDA had been drawn to letters purportedly signed by the Academy Registrar, offering admission slots.

“The authentic list of successful candidates and reserves was published in the Daily Trust and Daily Sun newspapers of August 19, 2025, as well as on the NDA’s official website,” Kovangiya clarified.

The NDA advised Nigerians to ignore unsolicited messages or documents claiming to grant admission into the Academy. “We advise the public to verify all information only through official channels,” the statement read.

The Academy reiterated that any communication outside its established platforms should be treated as fraudulent and reported to the appropriate authorities.

The academy says the warning is to protect applicants and uphold the integrity of its admission process.
