The public spat between Ned Nwoko and his estranged wife, actress Regina Daniels, is not abating with additional tit-for-tat comments by the two individuals on Sunday, defending their narratives of the marital crisis.
Nwoko, the billionaire senator, insists his wife must undergo rehabilitation, warning that her life and well-being are at risk.
Speaking with another online news media, the News Agency of Nigeria in Abuja on Sunday, he cited toxicology reports and a sudden shift in her behaviour as reasons for urgent medical attention.
According to Nwoko, Regina’s once calm personality has given way to violent and erratic tendencies, accompanied by repeated health crises.
“I want her alive and healthy, not just for me, but for our children. We have two young kids, and they cannot fight for themselves. I’m going to fight for them by safeguarding their mother,” he said.
The senator disclosed that he has rushed her to Nizamiye Hospital three times after alleged drug overdoses. “I have lived with this problem for eight months. On three occasions, I had to carry her unconscious to the hospital, and you can verify it,” he added.
He also presented toxicology results he claims confirm substance abuse.
Nwoko accused some of Regina’s siblings and their friends of influencing her negatively, alleging they supplied drugs and obstructed her progress.
“The same circle that I trusted has exploited her resources and smuggled substances every time she tried to quit,” he said. He urged her family to stop denying the problem and work with him to save her.
Options for Rehab Clinics in Nigeria
Experts say Nigeria has limited but growing options for drug rehabilitation. Facilities like the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Enugu, the Nizamiye Medical Centre, and private rehab clinics offer treatment for substance abuse and psychological disorders.
Recovery requires not just medical care, but family support, counselling, and monitoring—a combination Nwoko says he is committed to providing.
The senator also refuted claims by Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, suggesting one of his sons died from a drug overdose in the UK. He described the allegation as “inhuman” and stressed that no autopsy linked the death to drugs.
The public has followed the drama closely. Social media debates have erupted, with some urging Nwoko to seek urgent medical help for Regina, while others question whether family disputes and media exposure complicate treatment.

No one knew us like us and I trusted you with all of me even with my sextape which I pray never sees the light. but you have always been a step ahead negatively. Foolish me! When I married you at 17, was I on drugs? I thank God for time. My name is ruined for now but I will rewrite my story! That narrative will be dead and gone.
“Now that I have let the one thing you have on me out, what else? It’s time to fight with all of me in court! I’m not backing down now you narcissistic manipulative bastard!
