The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has extended the ongoing Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection exercise in Anambra State until November 2, giving eligible voters more time to obtain their cards ahead of future elections.
INEC’s Director of Voter Education and Publicity, Victoria Eta-Messi, announced the extension in a statement on Monday, noting that the decision followed several appeals from citizens and stakeholders.
“INEC has approved the extension of the ongoing collection of PVCs in Anambra from October 29 to November 2,” she said, adding that the move was agreed upon at a meeting of the commission held on October 27.
Eta-Messi advised all registered voters who are yet to collect their cards to take advantage of the extended period by visiting designated collection centres in the 326 registration areas across the state.
She explained that the exercise covers all those who registered during the most recent Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) period, ensuring that no eligible voter is left behind.
