Govship Candidate, George Moghalu Unveils 12-Point Plan to Rebuild Anambra

Labour Party’s flagbearer for the November 8, 2025 governorship race in Anambra State, Dr. George Moghalu, says he’s ready to rewrite the story of governance in the state.

His 12-point agenda touches security, roads, agriculture, education, and youth empowerment.

During a media chat with the League of Anambra Journalists in Abuja, Moghalu made his intentions clear. “I came into politics to change the narrative,” he said. “If I criticize, I offer an alternative. If it is me, this is what I would have done.”

He promised to run a government that listens. “I will be accessible. I will engage directly with the people,” he said. According to him, many of his ideas are simple but missing in the current administration.

Security First: Tech, Vigilantes, and Tradition

In Moghalu’s security blueprint, he wants to combine technology, community policing, and traditional institutions to fight crime.

“There is no command-and-control center in our state,” he lamented. “No CCTV coverage except the few installed by the late Senator Ifeanyi Uba in Nnewi.”

He pledged to build a state-wide security command center and install CCTV cameras at key locations. Intelligence gathering will be a priority. He also plans to train and pay vigilante groups across all 179 communities. These groups will work closely with local leaders.

Roads, Jobs, and Tech Hubs for Youths

On infrastructure, Moghalu remarked, “Investment in infrastructure stimulates economic activity, but unfortunately, that is not the focus of the current government,” he said.

He promised to fix roads and open up rural areas for trade. Agriculture will get a boost through value chain expansion. Vocational and tech-based education will be promoted to equip youths with global skills.

To tackle poor academic performance, Moghalu plans to build tech hubs in each senatorial district. These hubs will train young people in digital skills and innovation.

He also wants to strengthen the private sector to create jobs. His goal is to make Anambra a hub for enterprise and opportunity.

Moghalu’s track record in public service gives some weight to his words. But will his promises translate into action if elected?

That’s the question Anambrarians will answer come November.
