Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has become the most valuable footballer in the world for 2025. The 17-year-old winger is currently valued at £339 million, according to the CIES Football Observatory.

Yamal’s dazzling form for both Barcelona and the Spanish national team has made him the hottest property in football. The teenager is playing a key role in Barcelona’s La Liga title race under new manager Hansi Flick.

His dribbling, speed, and creativity have left fans and pundits in awe. His performances have earned comparisons to football legends despite his young age.

Barcelona has secured his future with a new contract that includes a €1 billion release clause. This huge buyout clause sends a clear message — the club wants to build its future around Yamal.

“It is a dream to play for Barcelona, and I want to win many trophies here,” Yamal once said during an interview.

Premier League Players Dominate Global Rankings

While Yamal tops the global value list, the English Premier League dominates in terms of player count. A total of 42 Premier League players appear in the top 100, the highest from any league.

La Liga follows with 19 players. Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has the most players from a single club on the list, with 11 players making the cut.

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland is second on the list with a valuation of £201 million. Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham ranks third at £196 million. Both players have continued to deliver consistently for their clubs.

Bellingham slightly edges out his teammate Kylian Mbappé, who is worth £161 million. At 26, Mbappé is the oldest player among the top 10 names.

England’s Young Stars Make a Big Mark

England is well-represented in the top tier of valuable players. Chelsea’s Cole Palmer, after a breakout season, ranks eighth with a value of £106 million. Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka follows with a valuation of £96 million.

Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers also makes the list, valued at £95 million. These rising English stars are attracting attention across Europe.

German midfielder Florian Wirtz, currently being pursued by Liverpool, is worth £102 million. Reports suggest the Merseyside club may offer more to secure his signature.

Top Goalkeeper and Surprise Inclusions

Beyond the attacking talents, Brighton’s Bart Verbruggen is ranked the most valuable goalkeeper. His market value stands at £54 million.

Right-back Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen is worth £55.4 million. This figure is nearly double the amount the German club paid to sign him.

Other surprising names on the list include Samu Aghehowa and Viktor Gyökeres, who play in Portugal and are valued at £60 million and £59.5 million respectively. Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran, now in Saudi Arabia, is valued at £48 million and is the only player from that region to make the list.
