Sean “Diddy” Combs, the U.S. legendary R&B musician facing multiple sexual assault lawsuits and a federal human trafficking probe, has been arrested in New York City.
Combs was arrested at the Park Hyatt Hotel in Manhattan and taken into custody by Homeland Security Investigations. The arrest was based on an indictment expected to be unsealed on Tuesday morning, September 17.
The charges and details of the case against Combs are unclear at this time. Negotiations for Combs’ surrender have been ongoing, and the sealed indictment was voted on Monday.
Combs’ attorney, Marc Agnifilo, expressed disappointment with the decision to pursue an “unjust prosecution” against his client.
Combs has been cooperating with the investigation and voluntarily relocated to New York in anticipation of the charges. His team maintains his innocence and claims he has “nothing to hide.”
