MultiChoice Unveils New DStv Packages

Date:

MultiChoice Nigeria has introduced a simplified package structure for DStv and GOtv subscribers, effective from 5 November 2026.

The company announced the changes on 27 October 2026 at a media briefing held at its headquarters in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The overhaul replaces the previous multiple packages with four clearer options for each platform and introduces a dedicated Sports package for football fans.

Chief Executive Officer Kemi Omotosho said the restructuring was designed to give subscribers more choice and better value.

“We’re giving you more choice: four simple packs from entry pack to the very best of sports and premium,” Omotosho stated.

She added that customers could start on a lower package and upgrade as their viewing needs changed.

New Pricing Structure

Under the revised DStv line-up, the Starter package costs ₦6,000 monthly and includes SuperSport KICKOFF and Africa Magic+.

The Select package is priced at ₦11,000 and offers movies, local and international series, children’s content and selected sports.

The new Sports package costs ₦21,000 and covers every English Premier League and UEFA Champions League match, along with World Wrestling Entertainment and Ultimate Fighting Championship events.

Premium remains the top tier at ₦44,500 and adds Formula 1, MotoGP, Grand Slam tennis and major golf tournaments.

For GOtv, the packages are Easy at ₦4,000, Starter at ₦6,000, Select at ₦11,000 and Sports at ₦21,000.

Senior Vice President of Communications Tope Oshunkeye explained that the Sports package responds to requests from viewers who want full football coverage without paying for the highest tier.

The company said the changes form part of a broader strategy by its parent company, Canal+, to simplify product ranges and respond more closely to customer needs across Africa.

MultiChoice noted that the new structure aims to compete more effectively with streaming services by offering clearer choices and greater accessibility at different price points.
