Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) of the Nigerian Army, working in close collaboration with local vigilante groups, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) members, and hunters, have successfully disrupted a terrorist logistics operation in Borno State.

According to a statement by the Media Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Lt. Col. Sani Uba, the operation was based on credible intelligence about the movement of supplies by suspected JAS/ISWAP elements.

On the night of December 20, 2025, troops deployed to an interception point between Sojiri and Kayamla villages.

At approximately 2:24 a.m. on December 21, insurgents mounted on bicycles arrived with logistics materials, confirming earlier intelligence.

The troops, positioned in concealed formations, engaged them swiftly.

Logistics Seized, Networks Disrupted

During the exchange, 21 suspected terrorists were neutralised, while others fled with gunshot wounds.

Items recovered included bicycles, assorted foodstuffs, drugs and medical supplies, detergents, clothing, torch lights, sundry logistics materials, and assorted weapons with ammunition.

The operation shows the effectiveness of intelligence‑driven, joint security efforts in degrading terrorist networks and disrupting their sustainment capabilities.

This renewed vigour of OPHK underscores the importance of community collaboration in counter‑insurgency, as local hunters and vigilantes continue to provide critical support in intelligence gathering and tactical operations.
