JAMB Extends Public University Admission Deadline to November 17

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has extended the 2025 public university admission deadline from Friday, October 31, to Monday, November 17, 2025.

The move follows the July 18, 2025, Policy Meeting on Admissions, chaired by Education Minister Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, which had initially set October 31 as the final date.

JAMB commended universities for their diligence but said the extension was necessary due to recent developments affecting the admission schedule.

Two key factors informed the decision: first, an appeal from the Association of Vice-Chancellors of Nigerian Universities (AVCNU) after a temporary court-ordered halt on the 2025/2026 admission list, vacated only on October 28.

Second, the National Universities Commission (NUC) released a list of 229 newly accredited programmes across 37 universities on October 29, with admissions just commencing.

JAMB stressed that November 17 is the final date for completing admissions, urging universities to adhere strictly.

The Board reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent, credible process aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
