Barcelona came from behind on Thursday night to beat Real Oviedo 3-1 away from home in LaLiga. The victory kept Hansi Flick’s side just two points behind leaders Real Madrid.

The Catalans were shaky early on. Goalkeeper Joan Garcia was caught far from his net and gifted possession to Alberto Reina. The Oviedo midfielder struck from long range, giving the newly promoted side a shocking halftime lead.
Hansi Flick had rotated his team with Paris Saint-Germain looming in the Champions League. Young Marc Casado struggled in midfield, and Barcelona were stuck shooting from distance.

At the break, Flick brought in Frenkie De Jong. The Dutchman transformed the game instantly, driving play forward and opening spaces. Three different scorers then sealed the win for Barça in ruthless fashion.

Gavi’s long injury absence leaves Barcelona thin in midfield. Pedri and De Jong are reliable, but Casado or Eric Garcia in rotation remain risky. Madrid’s deep squad under Xabi Alonso only sharpens the contrast.
Flick must find creative solutions if Barcelona are to defend their LaLiga crown and compete in Europe. Will another academy gem emerge, or will rotation expose their weakness at the wrong time?
