Julius Malema, Others Arrives Enugu for NBA 2025 Conference

The President of South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), Julius Malema, has arrived in Nigeria for the 2025 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference.

Malema was warmly welcomed in Enugu State by Chief Emeka Obegolu SAN, Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Technical Committee on Conference Planning (TCCP).

The NBA had earlier confirmed Malema as the keynote speaker for this year’s gathering. The conference will run from August 22 to 30, 2025.

The theme for 2025 is “Stand Out, Stand Tall.” The NBA says the focus is on bold leadership, innovation, and accountability in law, governance, and society.

Thousands of legal professionals, policymakers, and thought leaders are expected in Abuja for the event.

Why Malema Matters

Malema is widely known for his fiery voice on economic justice, Pan-Africanism, and social reform. His speeches often draw strong reactions across Africa.

He has consistently pushed for policies aimed at reducing inequality and strengthening African unity. His political career has made him one of the continent’s most influential and controversial leaders.

At the NBA conference, he is expected to deliver an address that challenges conventional thinking and stirs conversation on Africa’s shared struggles and opportunities.

EFF, in a statement, remarked, “This moment is not only an honour for the EFF but also a powerful reminder of the shared struggles and aspirations that bind Africa together. The welcome in Nigeria reflects the spirit of Pan-Africanism and solidarity, which remains central to the fight for true liberation and economic freedom across the continent.

With Nigeria currently having debates on legal and constitutional reforms, governance, and economic hardship, not to mention schisms of anti-Nigeria xenophobia in South Africa, Malema’s visit could not have come at a better time. Or do you think it will add no real value to the discourses?
