The All Progressives Congress (APC) is taking youth engagement to a new level. Its National Youth Leader, Mr. Dayo Israel, has unveiled a plan to set up Progressive Campus Clubs in universities and polytechnics across Nigeria.
Speaking at the APC Youths Resource Center in Abuja, Mr. Israel said the initiative will mentor young Nigerians and equip them with relevant skills.
“It’s not just at election time that we will want to engage students,” he said. “We want the party to have activities and concrete programs that make a positive impact on the youths.”
The clubs will offer digital training to students regardless of their political leanings. According to Mr. Israel, the goal is to build capacity and prepare youths for the future.
“We want to create platforms for continuous interaction with students,” he explained. “They will learn digital innovation and other skills that matter in today’s world.”
The APC Youths Resource Center, launched earlier this year, is already working to mobilise young Nigerians ahead of the next general elections.
The party has also created a membership enrichment team to document and digitise its youth base.
Beyond Politics: Building a Generation of Innovators
Mr. Israel says youth empowerment must go beyond slogans. The campus clubs will run year-round programs, including mentorship, tech bootcamps, and leadership training.
The initiative is expected to reach thousands of students across Nigeria’s 170+ tertiary institutions. It’s part of APC’s broader strategy to connect with young minds and shape future leaders.
