Pastor Adeboye Prophesies How and When He Will Die

The 83-year-old General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has again described the manner of his death.

Born on March 2, 1942, the revered cleric said it will happen peacefully, without sickness, on a Sunday.

Speaking on the fourth day of the RCCG international convention themed “The Overcomers”, Adeboye restated that his departure will follow his favourite meal.

“I will die on a Sunday after attending service, eat my beloved pounded yam, and then pass on without any sickness,” he declared.

“Fight for Your Divine Rights”

Under the message “Possess Your Possessions”, Adeboye urged Christians to claim their blessings boldly.

He likened believers to the Israelites, who had to fight for Canaan despite God’s promise.

“In many cases, you may have to fight for things that are already yours,” he said. “Your greatest friend, Jesus Christ, paid a great price to purchase your healing, but there is a thief who comes to steal, kill, and destroy.”

Adeboye warned that poverty, sickness, and oppression often persist because people tolerate them.

“As long as you want to remain poor, you will remain poor,” he said. “If you make it as a Christian, they criticise you. If you die poor, they say, ‘Where’s your God?’”

“It Is What We Tolerate That Disturbs Us”

Referencing Jacob’s struggle with the angel in Genesis 32, Adeboye said Christians must show the same tenacity.

“Jacob wrestled with the angel until his fate was changed. It is what we tolerate that disturbs us,” he told the crowd.

He urged believers to reject every form of affliction — whether sickness, barrenness, or premature death — and fight spiritually to take what Christ has already secured for them.

The RCCG Annual Convention ends Sunday, August 10, with a Thanksgiving service at the Redemption Camp.

Do you agree with Pastor Adeboye that many of life’s battles are won only when we refuse to tolerate the problem? How does that work?
