Tech: Astronomer CEO Resigns After Viral Kiss-Cam Video at Coldplay Concert
Andy Byron, CEO of US-based tech company Astronomer Inc., has stepped down following a viral video showing him kissing a colleague during a Coldplay concert at Gillette Stadium in the US.
The video, which surfaced on July 16, captured Byron and Kristin Cabot, the company’s Chief People Officer, sharing an intimate moment on the stadium’s kiss cam, sparking widespread online attention with nearly 9 million views on TikTok.

Following public backlash, the company placed both executives on administrative leave and launched an internal investigation.
In a statement released on July 19, Astronomer confirmed Byron’s resignation and announced that co-founder Pete DeJoy has been appointed as interim CEO.
The board stated that the decision was made to uphold the company’s values and maintain trust with stakeholders.
Astronomer, which recently secured $93 million in Series D funding and is valued at $1.3 billion, assured that operations remain unaffected by the incident.
