Rapper Snoop Dogg Invests in Swansea City as Co-Owner

American rapper and entrepreneur Snoop Dogg has joined the ownership ranks of English Championship side Swansea City FC, adding star power to the club’s roster of high-profile investors.

The club confirmed the news on Thursday, unveiling Snoop in the team’s new 2025/26 home kit. His involvement comes after Croatian footballer Luka Modrić joined the ownership group earlier this year.

In his official statement, “My love of football is well known, but it feels special to make my move into club ownership with Swansea City. This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back—just like me.”

The ownership consortium, Swansea Football LLC, includes Andy Coleman, Brett Cravatt, Nigel Morris, and Jason Cohen. The club anticipates that Snoop Dogg’s global influence will enhance its international visibility and commercial opportunities, especially among younger audiences.

Plans are already underway to feature a mural of Snoop at the Swansea.com Stadium, symbolising his commitment to the team.

This move reflects a growing trend of celebrity investments in Championship football, echoing the success of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney with Wrexham and Tom Brady’s involvement with Birmingham City.

Do you think celebrity ownership is good for football clubs, or does it distract from the sport itself?
