Nigeria has been confirmed as the host of the 2025 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA). The event will take place in Lagos from November 25 to 30.
The African Union Commission (AUC) and the International Committee of AFRIMA announced the decision at the AU headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The 2025 edition, themed “Unstoppable Africa,” aims to unite artists, industry professionals, and music lovers from across the continent.
Angela Martins, Director for Social Development, Culture, and Sport at AUC, praised Lagos as a suitable host city.
“Lagos has the right mix of modern facilities, strong media presence, security and transport systems, and good hospitality that make it ideal for hosting a major global event,” she said.
Large-Scale Participation Expected
The event will feature over 1,600 nominees, supported by 2,300 production crew members. More than 60,000 visitors and delegates are expected to attend.
Organizers project that the event will reach over 400 million viewers worldwide through live broadcasts on 109 television stations across 84 countries.
AFRIMA, established to celebrate and promote African music and cultural heritage, continues to showcase Africa’s rich musical diversity on a global scale.
