Looks like The Game may have to give up his posh Calabasas mansion to pay off a huge $7.1 billion court judgment. And no, this isn’t a scene from Empire. It’s very real.
A U.S. judge has approved the sale of the rapper’s California home to help cover the money he owes to Priscilla Rainey. That judgment was from a 2015 lawsuit where Rainey accused him of sexual assault during VH1’s She Got Game.
“If the sale covers the homestead exemption and senior debts, and leaves anything for the creditor, it must go through,“ the court said in its ruling.
Translation? If there’s enough cash left over after the legal mumbo jumbo, then it’s game over for The Game’s mansion.
He Lost by Default—And It’s Been Messy Since
Rainey won $7.13 million in 2018 because The Game didn’t bother to show up in court. Yep. No-shows usually lose, and that’s what happened.
Since then, it’s been years of back-and-forth. At one point, The Game reportedly transferred the mansion to his longtime manager, Wack 100—allegedly to dodge the judgment.
In July 2023, Judge Mark C. Scarsi wasn’t buying it. He hit them with a writ of execution and warned that the mansion could be sold off. By October, the court ordered The Game to explain why his house shouldn’t be snatched. He didn’t convince them.
Now, the house is listed for $4 million. But even if it sells at that price, he’ll still owe Rainey about $3 million. That’s like still owing for a Benz after selling your Rolls-Royce.
He Still Doesn’t Want to Pay
The Game is not one to go down quietly. He’s been clear online that he’s not handing over that money without a fight.
Back in 2020, he let loose in a fiery Instagram post:
“People out here dying from the rona n blogs out here creating false narratives for this Waffle House roach who doing anything her thirsty a## can to try n take money from me. I’m enjoying retirement!! Y’all been saying she got 7 million for 7 years & yet here I am, laid up tipsy off my 5th quarantine watching Tiger King lol.”
Clearly, he wasn’t too worried at the time.
Rainey Gets the Last Laugh—for Now
While The Game was laughing on Instagram, Rainey was securing the bag. In 2020, she was awarded ownership of Prolific Records—The Game’s label. That meant royalties from his album Born to Rap started going straight into her account.
She’s been playing chess, not checkers. And with the house now heading for sale, she might be getting a whole lot more.
It’s been almost 10 years since this legal drama began. And unless a miracle happens in escrow, The Game might soon be house hunting.
