Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, the late Chief of Army Staff, was laid to rest at the National Cemetery in Abuja on November 15, following a funeral service at the National Christian Centre. President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other top officials attended the event.
Gen. Lagbaja passed away on November 5, 2024, after an illness. He was renowned for his leadership and dedication throughout his distinguished military career. During the service, President Tinubu conferred a posthumous national honor, the Commander of the Federal Republic (CFR), on the late General, acknowledging his exceptional service. The funeral included military honors and heartfelt tributes from family, friends, and colleagues, celebrating his sacrifice and service to the nation.
