After a successful and lengthy interview with former US President Donald Trump on Monday on his X spaces platform, Elon Musk has now offered to interview US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris.
The interview with Trump, which Trump’s campaign hailed as the “interview of the century,” lasted about two hours and has now garnered over a billion views. The interview hosted on X included wide-ranging discussions on the recent assassination attempt on Trump, the Israel-Palestine conflict, Russia-Ukraine wars, and US relations with other global powers like China.
After the interview, Musk wrote in a post on X that he would be “happy to host Kamala on an X Spaces too.”
But already Musk has endorsed Trump leaving the Harris campaign skeptical of his neutrality. Harris campaign has yet to respond to the invitation officially; but as the Trump Space interview was underway, her campaign sent out a fundraising email asking supporters to “chip in $25” to help “respond to their lies.”
In the letter, the vice president accused Musk of using his “purchased platform” to “spread Trump’s unhinged and hateful agenda to millions of users” and said, “The richest person in the world is a lackey for Team MAGA.”
“Musk is using his vast fortune and broad reach to try to control our democracy,” the email read.
After the interview ended, the Harris-Walz team released a statement describing the Trump interview as “unhinged” and claiming that Trump’s entire campaign is about “self-obsessed rich guys who will sell out the middle class and who cannot run a livestream in the year 2024.”
To be waiting for a Kamala-Musk interview on X, at least for now, seems a pipe dream.
