In Nigeria’s heart,
A story’s told,
Of struggles of many,
Young and old.
A nation rich, full of grace,
Where leaders fail in disgrace,
And Hope takes flight.
In Nigeria now,
You’re either going through a lot,
Coming from a lot,
Or about to enter a lot.
Then a lot is going on,
With a lot of us.
It’s true.
We’re known as the happiest,
But where’s the happy crew?
Corruption’s stings,
A wound that won’t heal.
And the people suffer,
With a troubled feel.
From north to south,
East to west,
The cry is loud,
The pain pressed.
But still we rise,
With hearts unbroken.
Our resilience,
With a new spirit awoken.
We find strength,
Even in the midst of strife,
And we thrive,
From the darkest life.
Through the storm,
A glimmer shines bright.
A hope for change,
A new light coming,
Where leaders lead,
With hearts of gold,
And Nigeria’s tale,
Is one of old,
Rewritten with a new story to be told!
