The Super Falcons of Nigeria have secured a spot in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris after holding Banyana Banyana of South Africa to a goalless draw tonight in Pretoria.
The second half had many anxious moments for the Falcons but for the brilliant saves of goalie Chiamaka Nnaedozie who many consider the star of the match..
Nigeria went into the games with a 1-0 goal advantage having trounced their South African rivals in the first leg encounter in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital city.

In that game, Rashidat Ajibade‘s solitary goal has become the decisive goal now propelling Coach Randy Waldrum’s team to the Paris Olympics later in the year.
Tonight’s victory ends 16 years of absence of Nigeria’s female football team in an Olympic games. The last one Super Falcons qualified for was 2008 Olympics held in Beijing, China.
