The 2019 federal budget proposal has been approved by the Federal Executive Council presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The council was called in for a special session this Friday 07 December to discuss the final draft of the proposal.
The Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo-Udoma, addressing State House Correspondents in Abuja at the end of the meeting said the executive arm will now work with the national assembly on a date for formal presentation of the budget to the parliament by the president.
Details of the estimates are not yet public, but the total expenditure proposed in the budget is said to be N8.6trillion, a drop from last year’s N9.2trillion budget.
