All Progressives Congress National Youth Leader Dayo Israel has presented brand-new 2026 Toyota Prado sport utility vehicles to selected party youth leaders for election mobilisation.
Israel announced the distribution on 25 October 2026 in a post on X that was later deleted.
He stated that the vehicles were given to committed selected youth leaders to aid their election mobilisation activities.
Israel expressed gratitude to First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her continuous support to the party structure under his leadership.
He wrote: “I am grateful to my Mummy, H.E Mrs Oluremi Tinubu for her continuous support to the party structure under my leadership.”
A video accompanying the original post showed at least seven of the vehicles.
Opposition and Public Reaction
The announcement has drawn sharp criticism from opposition figures and members of the public over the timing and cost of the vehicles.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress estimated the value of the seven vehicles shown at more than one billion naira.
Political economist Professor Pat Utomi questioned the priorities in a post on X, stating that Nigerian soldiers are paid low salaries while luxury vehicles are distributed.
He said: “Nigerian soldiers are being paid peanuts as salaries, yet an APC youth leader is flaunting SUVs worth billions of naira. This is the same government that told Nigerians there was no longer money in the treasury. At this point, they must think we are fools!”
The distribution comes as the All Progressives Congress intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Israel pledged that the party would deliver results polling unit by polling unit.
