Several people are feared dead after a helicopter crashed in a swampy area of Igbokoda, the headquarters of Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, on Monday, October 5, 2026.
A local source said residents heard a loud sound from the area but could not reach the crash site because it was located in a swamp within the creek.
The source said police and military personnel later arrived to begin rescue operations.
However, the number of casualties remains unknown, while the fate of the helicopter’s occupants has yet to be officially confirmed.

These helicopter crashes are a bit troubling, just about last week, a big business mogul and his wife and I think child were all killed during a helicopter crash.
I would like to know, are these machines prone to crashes or they require highly trained individual with the technical know-how to operate?
