The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new policy enabling candidates to upload their Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results from home.
The initiative integrates JAMB’s e-Facility platform with examination bodies, starting with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
Dr. Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, said the initiative would make the process easier, faster, and safer while reducing unnecessary visits to Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
He added that the system reflects JAMB’s renewed commitment to customer-oriented and technology-driven service delivery.
How The New System Works
Under the new arrangement, candidates can verify their results directly with examination bodies before uploading them to their JAMB profiles. The process involves two stages:
- Candidates visit https://buyresultsverificationcode.ng, enter their National Identification Number (NIN), select sittings and examination bodies, provide contact details, and make payment. They then input examination details to obtain a Verification Code.
- Candidates send “VERIFY” followed by the Verification Code to 55019 or 66019. The verified result is uploaded, and a notification is sent.
For candidates with two sittings, results are displayed on JAMB’s e-Facility platform, where subjects are selected before final submission.
JAMB said the new system would address challenges associated with manual uploads, including misplaced paper results, fraudulent entries, and errors in manual data entry.
The verification service offers a convenient alternative during periods of high demand and network challenges at CBT centres.
