Labour Party Crisis Over, Says Otti, Gets Free Nomination Form

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has declared that the crisis that rocked the Labour Party has been resolved, paving the way for the party to prepare for the 2027 general elections.

Otti made the announcement on Friday, May 8, 2026, in a post on his official X handle after receiving a free nomination form from the party’s National Working Committee at the Abia State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.

The form was presented by National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, in what Otti described as a symbolic gesture of unity and renewed confidence in the party’s future.

Speaking after the presentation, Otti commended the leadership for ending the prolonged disputes that had threatened the party’s stability.

“I commend Senator Usman for her leadership in steering our party out of the protracted crisis that once plagued it,” he said.

He maintained that the Labour Party had overcome all legal and political obstacles. “Today, I am confident that the coast is clear for the Labour Party to move forward into the next general elections, as all legal impediments have been effectively resolved, with no subsisting litigation against our party,” he stated.

Loyalty And Dedication To Party

Otti expressed gratitude to the National Working Committee, including National Secretary Hon. Obioma Iheanacho, for the recognition.

“I sincerely thank the leadership of our great party… I assure you that I do not take this gesture lightly,” he said.

Otti receives the governorship nomination form from party chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman, and other members of the party’s National Working Committee.

He pledged continued loyalty and vowed not to disappoint. “I pledge never to disappoint the Labour Party and will continue to support it in every possible way,” Otti added.

The governor dedicated the recognition to the people of Abia State, saying their support inspires his administration’s commitment to governance and service delivery.
