Donald Trump is sending a US team to Pakistan. They will arrive on Monday for fresh talks with Iran. This comes as a fragile ceasefire reaches its final days.
The American leader shared the news on Sunday via Truth Social. He used very strong words to describe his position on the matter.
“NO MORE MR. NICE GUY!” Trump wrote in his post. He warned that he would destroy vital infrastructure if a deal is not reached soon.
“Washington was going to knock out every single Power Plant, and every single Bridge, in Iran,” the president added. He wants a firm agreement.
This conflict began on February 28, 2026, following a surprise US and Israeli strike on Iranian targets.
Both sides agreed to a two-week ceasefire. However, this pause in fighting will end in just three days. Tension is rising quickly.
“We’re offering a very fair and reasonable DEAL, and I hope they take it,” Trump stated. Negotiators will meet in the city of Islamabad.
Security Tightens In Islamabad For Talks
Islamabad is preparing for the arrival of the US team. They will land in the Pakistani capital on Monday evening.
Police have already closed roads near the Serena and Marriott hotels. These locations are part of the secure “Red Zone” in the city.
“Citizens are earnestly requested to cooperate with the security agencies,” a local official posted on social media. Guards are everywhere.
The previous US team was led by JD Vance. It included Steve Witkoff, who served as a Middle East envoy before the fighting started.
A major problem in these talks is nuclear power. Trump alleges that Tehran wants to build nuclear weapons. Iran denies this.
One key issue is 440 kilogrammes of enriched uranium. Trump says Iran agreed to give it up. He plans to use excavators to get it.
“It was not going to be transferred anywhere,” the Iranian foreign ministry replied. They say surrendering it was never on the table.
President Masoud Pezeshkian also spoke on Sunday. He questioned why his nation should give up its “legal right” to its programme.
The Global Impact Of The Hormuz Blockade
The war has damaged the global economy. This is because Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz. This waterway is vital for energy shipments.
About 20% of the world’s oil and gas travels through this point. In response, Trump began a naval blockade on all Iranian ports.
Iran briefly opened the strait on Friday. This happened after a ceasefire started in Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah.
However, the strait was shut again on Saturday. Iranian officials say this is because the US has not ended its own naval blockade.
“If America does not lift the blockade, traffic in the Strait of Hormuz will definitely be limited,” said Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf.
Ghalibaf is the speaker of the parliament. He believes the two nations are “still far from the final discussion” on peace terms.
Meanwhile, the Revolutionary Guards are on high alert. They warned that any vessel passing without permission will be targeted.
There are reports of violence in the water. The Guards allegedly fired at a tanker on Saturday. Another ship was hit by a projectile.
“That wasn’t nice, was it?” Trump remarked regarding the incidents. Tracking data now shows the waterway is completely empty.
