The Wike-Led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has confirmed that a zoning arrangement will guide its upcoming national convention in Abuja.
The event is scheduled for March 29 and 30, 2026, according to the updates shared by the party via a communique following its 107th National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Monday.
Abdulrahman Mohammed, chairman of the National Caretaker Working Committee, and Samuel Anyanwu, the secretary, jointly signed the document.
The NEC said that the convention theme is “A Convention of Inclusiveness, Unity and Renewal.”
It has now directed all committees to ensure a transparent and credible exercise for all members.
The party says it is sticking to its principles of equity and national balance.
The NEC officially affirmed the zoning formula for all national elective positions during the Monday session.
Nomination Forms And Guidelines For Interested Aspirants
The party also announced that the sale of nomination forms for the convention has already started.
All interested aspirants must follow the approved timelines and guidelines issued by the party headquarters.
“The NEC further affirmed the zoning formula for national elective positions as adopted, in line with the party’s long-standing principles of equity, fairness, inclusiveness, and national balance,” the communique stated.
Furthermore, the leadership alleged that the supremacy of the party must remain the priority for every member.
“It reiterated the supremacy of the party and called on all members to remain united, disciplined, and committed to the collective interest,” the statement added.
The NEC also reviewed reports from previous congresses held at the ward, local government, and state levels.
It expressed satisfaction with how these exercises were conducted across the country.
Another key part of the meeting focused on the ongoing electronic registration of PDP members.
The party noted that a technology-driven database is essential for its future organizational capacity.
The leadership urged all members across the federation to take part in this digital exercise. They believe that a credible database will help the party provide better national direction and leadership for Nigerians.
