RB Leipzig winger Ayodele Thomas is ready to play for Nigeria’s Super Eagles. The teenage attacker recently moved to Germany to join the Bundesliga side.

Although he played for the Netherlands at the youth level, he is not tied to their senior team. FIFA rules allow him to switch his allegiance to Nigeria.

Sources close to Thomas say he wants to wear the green and white. He visited Nigeria in 2025 and has a strong personal bond with the country.

Fans have even spotted him wearing Nigeria’s national team kit in public. This has fueled talk that he will choose the Super Eagles over the Dutch side.

For now, Thomas is focusing on his club career. He joined Leipzig in January but has not made his senior debut yet.

He previously played for PSV Eindhoven’s reserve team. There, he recorded three goals and six assists in 18 games.

His camp says his first goal is to break into the Leipzig first team. After he settles in Germany, he will make a final decision on his international future.

If he chooses Nigeria, he will follow players like William Troost-Ekong and Tyronne Ebuehi.

Both were also born in the Netherlands but chose to play for Nigeria.
