Lagos to Host Commonwealth Investor Summit in June 2026

Lagos State will host the largest gathering of foreign investors from Commonwealth countries in June.

This follows a new partnership between the State Government and the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC).

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and CWEIC Chief Executive Officer Samantha Cohen signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the State House in Marina on Thursday.

The agreement confirmed Lagos will host the 2026 Lagos Trade and Investment Summit, tagged “Invest in Lagos 3.0.”

The two-day summit will take place at Eko Hotels Convention Centre, Victoria Island, with 500 to 600 delegates expected.

Attendees will include global investors, sovereign wealth funds, multinational corporations, and development finance institutions.

Sanwo-Olu said, “Invest Lagos 3.0 is not going to be a ceremonial gathering. It is expected to be a transaction-focused investment platform built for capital alignment and project conversion.”

He added that Lagos will showcase bankable projects in transport, energy, housing, healthcare, and industrial growth corridors, while supporting MSMEs that drive over 70% of the state’s economy.

Cohen said Nigeria is Commonwealth’s strongest network outside the UK, noting Lagos gains up to 21% cost advantage in business with member states.

She explained that CWEIC will use its global network to bring new investors to Lagos.
