Nollywood actress and filmmaker Bolaji Ogunmola has publicly rebuked a social media critic who questioned the intensity of her on-screen chemistry with co-star Daniel Etim-Effiong in her newly released film The Bloom After.

The controversy began after a user reacted to romantic scenes from the movie, suggesting that the chemistry between Ogunmola and Etim-Effiong appeared excessive.
The critic insinuated that repeated intimate roles between actors could lead to real-life emotional involvement, drawing comparisons to Nollywood relationships that reportedly began on set.
Ogunmola dismissed it and defended it as professionalism.
She criticized what she described as an attempt to reduce her performance to only kissing scenes, asking viewers to see deeper message beyond romance in the film.
According to her, focusing solely on intimate moments undermines the artistic effort and storytelling behind the project.

In her response, the actress clarified that her relationship with Etim-Effiong remains strictly professional.
