Celebrity barman and nightlife entrepreneur Pascal Okechukwu, popularly known as Cubana Chief Priest, has publicly stated that he will not support former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi in the 2027 presidential election.
The socialite made the declaration during an Instagram interaction with followers, confirming his intention to work against Obi’s anticipated presidential ambition.
The controversy began when an Instagram user asked whether he was actively opposing Obi despite reports of past collaboration.
Cubana Chief Priest responded directly: “I will not be backing Peter Obi in 2027.”
His statement quickly irked Peter Obi’s supporters who lambasted the celebrity barman for his position, while others defended his right to his political choice.
Heated debates have since spread across social media platforms.
As of now, while Peter Obi has declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election, it is not yet in concrete that he can secure the nomination of a major party like the African Democratic Party (ADC) where he is currently an active member.
Cubana Chief Priest is not hiding the fact he is pitching his tent with the President Bola Tinubu second term aspiration.
Recently, Cubana was appointed the State Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, Imo State, a political movement of elite club of businessmen and entrepreneurs committed to the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Tinubu.
They are working to re-elect Tinubu for a second term in office.
Cubana’s benefactor, Obinna Iyiegbu, also known as Obi Cubana, will serve as the South East regional coordinator of the group.
The development adds to Nigeria’s growing political discourse ahead of 2027, as public figures and influencers increasingly make their positions known.

The truth is that everybody has the right to vote for whoever they deem fit. Cubana has exercised his right, we all should leave him be, after all when Atiku’s son defected to APC the hate or rather the outrage was not this much.
