Abuja’s renowned comedian, Washington, will return to the stage with the second edition of his popular comedy show, “Wetin Women Really Want 2”, dedicated to celebrating women’s contributions at home and in society.

Scheduled for March 8, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, the event coincides with International Women’s Day, mirroring the timing of the first edition, which was held on March 9, 2025.

“This year, we are building on the success of last year’s edition to deliver an even more exciting celebration that honours women,” Washington said.

Entertainment line-up and performances

The comedy show will feature veteran musicians, comedy icons, renowned MCs, and electrifying dancers, with a particular focus on women artistes to highlight the occasion.

Among the anticipated performers is Mr P of PSquare, joining Washington to celebrate the power of women.

Washington, whose real name is Ernest Anyanwu, is widely regarded as one of Abuja’s most talented MCs, event compères, and skit makers.

Known for his unique ability to connect with audiences, he has anchored numerous high-profile events and continues to leave a mark in the city’s entertainment and social circuits.

Partners and sponsorship

The event is backed by a growing list of partners and sponsors, including D-Ben Real Estate, Al-Maruf Communications Concept, Aerial View Pharmacy Ltd, Wincorp Homes & Properties Ltd, Ol’Clare, Amanda Group, and A.M.U Motors Nigeria Ltd, among others.

Spearheaded by Washington, a member of the 26 Pals Development Initiative, the show aims not only to entertain but also to recognise women as pillars of peace and societal progress.

“Wetin Women Really Want 2 promises to be bigger, better, and more memorable than the inaugural edition, as we continue to celebrate women in style,” Washington added.

The event is expected to draw a diverse audience of entertainment lovers, dignitaries, and supporters from across Abuja and beyond, reaffirming Washington’s legacy as a leading force in Nigeria’s comedy and entertainment scene.
